I can finally say it…
Everyday Magic is officially out now! 🎉
This book started as a simple challenge.
Write one 100-word story every day for a month.
Some stories were written while waiting for the kettle to boil. Others were squeezed into nap times or late at night after Jack had gone to sleep. A few nearly didn’t happen at all.
I never expected those tiny stories to become a book.
But somewhere between Day 1 and Day 31, I realised I’d created something I wanted to share.
Everyday Magic is a collection of 31 flash fiction stories. Some are heartwarming, some are funny, some wander into fantasy, and others simply ask you to look at ordinary moments a little differently.
One early reviewer called it:
“A mini-triumph in flash fiction.”
I don’t think I could ask for a better way to describe it.
Inside you’ll find:
- 31 stories, each exactly 100 words long
- A mix of contemporary fiction, humour, fantasy and heartfelt moments
- The writing prompt that inspired every story
- Behind-the-scenes reflections after each piece
It’s a book you can dip into whenever you have a spare minute. Read one story with your morning coffee. Another while you’re waiting for an appointment. A few before bed.
There’s no right way to read it.
Just one story at a time.
Creating this collection reminded me that you don’t need hours to be creative. Sometimes all you need is 100 words and a willingness to begin.
Thank you to everyone who has followed along, read my stories, left comments, shared my work, or simply cheered me on over the past year. This book wouldn’t exist without your encouragement.
If Everyday Magic sounds like your kind of book, I’d love for you to check it out.
And when you’ve read it, let me know which story stayed with you the longest.
I’d genuinely love to hear.
Talk to you soon,
Sarah
