A monthly update on my writing, publishing, and life in general.

April is always full of exciting news because it is Jack’s birthday. This month, he turned three years old. It is hard to believe that this amazing little human has been in my life for three years. It feels so short, but I also cannot imagine life any other way.
We celebrated with friends and family, and he was a little spoiled by everyone. He was very proud to tell people it was his birthday, that he was turning three, and that he would have three candles on his cake.
And while I am speaking of anniversaries, April also marks two years since I published my first children’s book, Jack’s Noisy Day, which I released on Jack’s first birthday. Since then, I have sold over 160 copies, plus given a few away to close friends and family, and I am so happy with the reception it has received around the world.
Since starting my writing journey, I have sold over 360 copies of my books to families around the world, and I am so grateful to have you here as part of my journey.
Jack’s next adventure is also making good progress. I have received the first draft from my illustrator and will be fine-tuning the black and white images over the next month before he begins adding the bright colours that Jack’s books are known for.
This month, I also took part in a story reading at a local bookstore over the school holidays and participated in a live Substack interview, where I talked about my self-publishing journey. If you are interested, you can watch the replay here.
As a special thank you for your support, and because it is Jack’s birthday, I am offering 20% off everything on my website from now until 30 June 2026. Please use code JACKIS3 at checkout (website sales only).
Cheers,
Sarah
